From its early beginnings in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1915 to today, the Fraternal Order of Police has grown to become the largest and most commanding voice in law enforcement. With more than 2,200 local lodges and more than 356,000 members across the United States, we are committed to the belief that no one knows the danger and difficulties faced by law enforcement officers better than another law enforcement officer. Since 1966, Jim Fogleman Lodge 50 Inc of Palm Beach County, FL has been representing and serving the dedicated men and women of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, and other agencies, providing legal aid as well as offering fraternal and social opportunities to our members. Building on a proud tradition!
Many of our lodge members were active in other police organizations but chose Jim Fogleman Lodge 50 Inc for our low membership dues and professional response to critical incidents and disciplinary cases. No other police association offers so much for so little. Don't rely on false or misleading information aimed at discouraging your decision to join. Scare tactics and bullying went out the window decades ago. We want you to make an informed decision and choose the best organization to represent you.
The Fraternal Order of Police was founded and continues to operate as a representative organization. That means you have a voice and vote in all matters in your lodge. As an active member, whether still employed or retired, you direct the efforts of your lodge. You decide what programs and benefits are right for you. You elect your officers to represent you. Whether in labor, legislation, education or fraternalism, your voice, and the voices of your fellow members, is the voice of the Fraternal Order of Police. Please allow us to be your voice by joining.
Quit throwing your money away!
Your annual dues support Lodge #50 only. As a result, our members decide what their priorities will be and give YOU control. An active member with legal aid pays a higher amount because a large percentage of dues is earmarked for legal aid protection (that is why we exist). An active member without legal aid pays considerably less but still contributes an equal share and enjoys the same benefits. Lodge #50 is staffed by a non-compensated board of directors elected every two years by the active members. There are no “high-paid executives.”
