The Five-0 Foundation Scholarship will be awarded to a qualified recipient(s) determined by the Scholarship Committee. The amount of the award is to be determined by the Executive Board of the Five-0 Foundation and is payable to the applicant.
The scholarship may be awarded annually up to and not exceeding a period of four (4) years upon providing proof of active enrollment in an accredited college, university or post-secondary educational institution that is recognized by the US Department of Education. A renewal application must be completed and submitted as well as a current certified transcript. Only those renewal applications postmarked by March 31st, 2025 will be accepted. The renewal applies only to Undergraduate Degrees and will not exceed a period of four (4) years. The recipient must be the son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter of a Fraternal Order of Police, Jim Fogleman Lodge 50 current, active member who is:
- In good standing at the time of the application
- Active with a minimum of three years or more
Essays will be closely scrutinized. Unethical use of a generative artificial intelligence (AI) to outline, draft and write the essay in part or in its entirety will disqualify the applicant. The scholarship application must be received by March 31st, 2025 via the US Postal Service. The scholarship committee will not accept any applications postmarked after March 31st, 2025. The Scholarship Committee will meet and review all applications by the April 2025 Board Meeting of the FOP Jim Fogleman Lodge #50 Five-0 Foundation. The applicant will receive notice by email of the accepted application. The Scholarship Committee will determine and notify the recipients via email no later than May 1, 2025. The decision of the Scholarship Committee is final and not open for debate.
